Course Description
The 2017 - 18 science curriculum is based on the Next Generation Science Standards and has been developed to prepare students for education and experiences beyond the middle school level. Instead of each year being devoted to the study of a specific branch of science, students will be exposed to concepts from different branches throughout each grade level as they relate to one another creating a foundation of knowledge which will be built upon in subsequent years. As these standards suggest, students will learn the ideas of science through active participation in the science itself; incorporating practices such as asking questions, defining models, planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, constructing explanations and designing solutions.
